- What is a MP3?
- A MP3 is an encoded WAVE file, it has sound quality nearly the same as an audio CD, but the size of the file is a lot smaller than the CD format. The size of a MP3 file compared to a WAVE file is about 1:10, but the sound quality is around 95% of the WAVE file.
- How do I play a MP3?
- Check your device has a soundcard, speakers and software (MP3 player) to play & listen to the MP3 file. We highly recommend foobar2000 for your MP3 player.

- Click on the download link and you will be taken to another page where the MP3 is stored. Follow the download instructions on this page to download the MP3.
- I downloaded a MP3. What do I do now?
- Check the file's name extension e.g. "Obama - Speech.mp3" ends with a .mp3 extension. This means you can listen to the MP3 with your MP3 player straight away.
If the extension ends with .zip or .rar it means that the MP3 is in a compressed format. These formats allow you to store multiple files into one file and compress the size down. It also allows setting up of a password to protect the file from others. You must decompress these compressed formats before you can play & listen the MP3 files inside them. We highly recommend WinRAR for uncompressing files.
- I downloaded a MP3 and it is asking for password. What do I do?
- Check the main page of the MP3 and find a section labeled "Password". If the password does not work, report the MP3 so we can remove it.
